Croatia has made Monday a day of mourning after Friday’s train accident near Split in which six people died and 55 were injured. A commemoration for all the victims will be held at the Lovrinac cemetery in Split at 13:00 CET. The probable cause of the accident was the liquid that was poured on the tracks to prevent the timber ties from catching fire due to high temperatures. A reconstruction of the accident showed that the train was not able use its brakes because of the liquid. However, police are not ruling out other potential causes of the accident, stating that more information will be known once the train's "black box" is retrieved.
