Hajduk Split's footballers had a narrow escape today, when the baggage hold of the plane they were traveling to Zagreb in swung open during take-off. The incident happened around 100 m off the ground, causing the plane, owned by Croatian Airlines, to suffer a sudden loss of altitude. Plane crash narrowly avoided in Split The pilot, however, was able to safely land the aircraft. In a state of shock, the players stood on the runway afterwards as a technical check was carried out on the plane, daily Jutarnji List reports.
