U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia Charles English said the Republic of Srpska cannot seek an independent path toward Euro-Atlantic integrations. "Separation of any part of the state is unacceptable and dangerous," the American diplomat said Saturday in Sarajevo. "Separation within Bosnia unacceptable" He held a lecture dubbed "U.S. foreign policy in Bosnia-Herzegovina" at the local university, when he said that his country was a true partner to Bosnia, "as it has proved in the past 13 years". English also told Bosnia's political leaders "not to let the past rule their political plans". "The citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina deserve a peaceful and prosperous future inside the Euro-Atlantic integrations. They must ask their leaders to secure such a future," he said, and added he supported a "multi-ethnic, democratic state of Bosnia-Herzegovina inside the Euro-Atlantic framework".
