Albania happy with Kosovo coalition deal

Albania has welcomed Monday’s agreement between Kosovo’s two main political parties to form a government. BIRN reports an Albanian foreign ministry statement praised the commitment of Kosovo Albanian politicians which led to the accord between the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo. Albania happy with Kosovo coalition deal “We value the engagement of the political class in Kosovo, who demonstrated a democratic culture, maturity and responsibility in the process of constituting the institutions vital for a coherent and contemporary administration,” read the foreign ministry statement, issued on Monday. The foreign ministry had earlier urged Kosovo Albanian leaders "to face with dignity all their responsibilities, to ensure Kosovo takes the necessary steps as an independent, democratic, fully-functioning and European country." BIRN says that Kosovo’s November election were widely covered by Albania’s media, which rarely devote much space or attention to issues related to Kosovo, apart from the talks on the long-term status of the province.
