Clear message from NATO: "KFOR is ready to intervene"

Geoanã stated in a post on Twitter that Kosovo and Serbia must show restraint and prevent escalation.

"Spoke to EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčak about the tense situation in northern Kosovo. Both Belgrade & Pristina must show restraint & prevent escalation", NATO KFOR Commander Mircea Geoana said.

"Bring progress to society! Express your opinions in a peaceful way and seek compromises," said KFOR.

Regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, KFOR called for a constructive dialogue and ordered to monitor the situation and closely cooperate with the leaders of Belgrade and Pristina, as well as with international partners, in order to preserve a safe environment for all citizens of Kosovo and Metohija.

On Instagram, KFOR called on all parties to resolve disagreements and discuss them through constructive dialogue. "Bring progress to society! Express your opinions in a peaceful way and seek compromises," said KFOR.

Earlier this evening, Deputy Secretary General of NATO Mircea Geoanã said that KFOR is ready to intervene if stability in the north of Kosovo and Metohija is threatened and called on Belgrade and Pristina to "show restraint and prevent escalation".
