The opening of chapters 23 and 24 in Serbia's EU accession talks will help bring a much more certain future, says Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic.

Opening of chapters "to bring more certain future"

The lifting of the British and Croatian vetoes on the opening of the chapters was in part due to Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic's discussions with EU leaders, as well as to perseverance and a principled, unchanged position.

"The opening of the chapters will bring us much work, much effort and affairs in which situations like this will be frequent," Selakovic told the RTS.

Chapter 23 is the most difficult chapter in the accession talks as it is among the first to be opened and among the last to be closed, Selakovic said.

"Conducting negotiations on Chapter 23 is not easy at all because it is a political chapter. Those are the crucial criteria that are taking us towards the European Union," Selakovic noted.
