DSS leader addresses reports she's about to step down
Speaking in Wednesday, she said she "simply" spoke about the importance of giving young people a chance to prove themselves."The electoral assembly of the DSS should be held in the fall of 2018, I thought we might move it a little towards the (2017) presidential election, some six months ahead of schedule," she told Beta agency.
Raskovic-Ivic added that she considers her part of the work "done."
"I preserved the party, I led it to parliament. Other, young people should be given the opportunity to prove themselves - but it seems to be very unusual in Serbia for someone to think ahead, and for someone to wish to willingly, in the foreseeable future, step down without being chased out - so that has caused general shock," said the president of DSS.
Raskovic-Ivic thanked on Tuesday Aleksandar Vucic for his invitation to consultations on the composition of his future cabinet, but decided not to accept it, describing her party and Vucic's SNS as being on completely opposite sides when it comes to their positions on the most important state, national and economic issues.
