Tadic to allies: Say if you intend to work with Vucic

"I do not wish to carry the burden of a suppressed or quiet cooperation with the government of Aleksandar Vucic," the former Serbian president told a news conference.

Tadic added that he was "in contact" with his coalition partners and that he "knows their position - but it's necessary that they state it publicly."

"The LDP and the LSV must state whether they accept the status of an opposition party or if they wish to cooperate with the government of Aleksandar Vucic," he said, adding that while he was primarily addressing his allies, other opposition leaders should also say where they stand on the issue of cooperating with Vucic and his SNS.

"I think it's time for the opposition to unify," Tadic said.

Earlier in the day, Vucic, asked whether he would invite LDP and LSV leaders Cedomir Jovanovic and Nenad Canak to join his future cabinet, replied he would "call everyone" but advised the media "not to attempt to construct some topics."

LSV Secretary-General Bojan Kostres said on Monday that the party would accept an invitation from the SNS to discuss joining the government, "if agreement is reached concerning LSV's political positions."
