Dacic "yet to discuss future government" with Vucic

In a statement for the Belgrade-based daily Blic, carried by the Beta agency, he said his Socialists and their pre-election coalition partners United Serbia (JS) are "ready to discuss continued cooperation with the Progressives, if they receive their invitation."

According to the latest results of the April 24 early parliamentary election, SPS-JS received 10.97 percent of the vote and should have 29 seats in Serbia's new National Assembly. Dacic said he was not entirely pleased with this result, considering that the party won fewer votes than in 2014.

"I am satisfied with the fact we are the second strongest party. Considering that we now went to the polls without PUPS (Pensioner Party), the result is about at the level of what we achieved in the previous election," he stressed, noting that "the most important thing" was the SPS managing to preserve its identity, and its coalition with United Serbia.

Asked whether he was open to cooperation with opposition parties, Dacic said his Socialists "have not had contacts with any party except the SNS."
