We completed the screening with better ratings than all other EU candidate countries, but the dialogue with ethnic Albanians was the problem, and it is a serious problem that will remain in the future, he said.

Asked if Chapter 35 on Kosovo contains any special conditions, Vucic responded that, for now, it mostly refers to implementation of specific agreements, adding that, in any case, it will not be an easy process.

Aleksandar Vucic spoke in Brussels late on Monday with EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini about Serbia's progress in the EU accession talks, the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and the situation in the region.

Vucic thanked Mogherini for her support for Serbia in the European integration process, noting that Belgrade is ready to continue the dialogue with Pristina and that regional stability is the most important matter in Serbia's foreign policy.

Mogherini congratulated Serbia on the opening of chapters in the accession talks and the progress in the dialogue with Pristina, the Serbian government press office said in a statement.

Vucic on Monday wrapped up a one-day visit to Brussels, where he attended an intergovernmental conference at which the first negotiation chapters were opened.
