BELGRADE Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, PM Ivica Dacic and First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic will on March 11 meet with certain EU officials in Brussels. Beta has learnt that the top Serbian officials will, among others, meet with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton. The sources stressed that a meeting of EU foreign ministers, led by Ashton, would be held in Brussels on Monday. A European Commission (EC) official who wished to remain anonymous confirmed that Nikolic, Dacic and Vucic would come to Brussels but he could not specify the date. “We would like it to be on Monday but we are still working on preparations,” the official explained. Serbia has stepped up its diplomatic activities ahead of the EU’s decision on a date for the beginning of the EU accession negotiations in April. On the other hand, the EU has been pressuring Serbia to make progress in talks with Pristina. However, the last round of talks ended without any agreement on March 4.
