PRISTINA Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci may pull out of the Belgrade-Pristina talks if Serbian PM Ivica Dacic insists on solutions from the Serbian platform for Kosovo. This is according to Pristina coordinator of political teams in talks on normalization of relations with Belgrade Blerim Shala. “Kosovo PM may withdraw from Belgrade-Pristina talks” He underscored that Kosovo “will not discuss and has nothing to discuss about the paper in Brussels or any other city in the world,” Pristina-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore has reported. “We have nothing to talk about regarding this document. None of us should talk about the document with anyone anywhere, not in Brussels, Tunisia or any anywhere else. The document is wrong from the beginning until the end and it is contrary to what happened in Kosovo. We will not waste time talking about the document,” Shala stressed. According to him, Belgrade “has once again provoked Kosovo and proved that nothing has changed since 1998” and “managed to put Serbia in a hostile position toward the West”. Shala pointed out that the platform was a failed attempt to change the direction of the dialogue that had started in Brussels. “The document represents a slap in the face of Mrs. (EU High Representative Catherine) Ashton, a slap in the face of Washington, Brussels and Berlin,” he said. Shala believes that the agenda presented by Ashton was very clear. “The agenda is aimed at normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia without an obligation on Serbia’s part to recognize independence, at creating a situation in which neither side will hinder each other in the European integration and in which Kosovo will not be prevented from becoming a member of all international organizations such as the EU and UN,” he explained. Shala said that the Serbian platform was “very harmful” to Ashton’s initiative to complete the talks by next June. “We expect the dialogue to continue where it left off. Otherwise, we will have nothing to talk about,” he concluded. Hashim Thaci (Beta, file) Tanjug
