There are minimal chances of the United Regions of Serbia (URS) becoming part of the future ruling coalition, URS official Suzana Grubjesic has said. She added that there are slim chances of the party joining the government “because we are being offered to enter the government without the party's leader Mladjan Dinkic”. Slim chance of URS entering govt., official says “Certain members of the Democratic Party (DS) are recruiting URS MPs and even offering the party to join the government, but without Dinkic, who is not acceptable for some DS top officials,” she told the Belgrade-based daily Danas. When asked to comment on the efforts of Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic to "push the URS into" the government, she said "it would be far more embarrassing if we offered ourselves and begged," and added that the URS did not depend on the forming of the government. "The party's bodies decide on all coalitions, but my personal stance is that the URS should stay in opposition and stop being an excuse for someone's powerlessness and incompetence," Grubjesic was quoted as saying.
