If adopted, a draft law "banning strikes" would bring the country close to a dictatorship, opposition SNS deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic has said. The draft law aims to prohibit protests outside of work place and factory grounds. Restricting strikes will lead to dictatorship, party warns He told a press conference that adoption of such law would scandalous, adding that such legislation did not exist anywhere in the world. “This is the law that says: We have introduced dictatorship and if you want to revolt you sit between four walls and strike there. This shows how much the government is afraid of workers, dissatisfaction and truth,” the SNS deputy leader stressed. According to him, the Progressives would understand if it is not allowed to block the most important streets but it is scandalous not to allow workers and dissatisfied citizens to protest anywhere except at their work place. “French farmers took over the entire Boulvard des Chanselise, they brought sheep, cows, horses, pigs to the most elite street in the world and Belgrade is a forbidden city for our farmers and now all cities in Serbia will be forbidden for our workers and farmers,” Vucic stressed. He added that Serbia was becoming more indebted, “that almost all local self-governments have become dramatically indebted in the last two years and among them Belgrade the most,” and asked how the state was going to repay the loans.
