A party, dubbed My Russia, is being founded in the Serbian town of Sabac that will strive to bring closer and unify Serbia and Russia. Several hundred people have so far signed up to support its establishment. The founder, Ivan Isakovic, believes they won't encounter any problems gathering 10,000 signatures needed for the party to be officially registered. Serbia to get "first pro-Russian party" Isakovic – who spent 22 years working in the United States before returning to his hometown – has published ads in local newspapers announcing the formation of the party and its manifesto. The manifesto's most important declaration is that it advocates "a fight to join our Orthodox mother and cradle Russia". "The Russian people are with us, we must not miss this train in history. Prime Minister Putin and President Medvedev are at the helm of our people. This means that Russians are our people, just as we are theirs," said Isakovic. Beside meeting with Russia's ambassador in Serbia, he did not have any contact with that country's officials. However, he believes that the two states will unify. "This is a very natural alliance that will last. For real Serbs, it never really stopped, we only had bad politicians." "This is the only party that is in fact needed. Others will most likely join us," Isakovic is confident. My Russia activists are now preparing to go out in numbers and welcome Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who is scheduled to arrive here on October 20.
