RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik says it would be fatal for Serbia if Tomislav Nikolic became president. “Wherever they’ve governed, they’ve left chaos in their wake. That’s why I wonder whether Serbia has time to waste the next five years pretending to live with the Radicals, before having to spend the subsequent twenty mending the damage done during their mandate,” Dodik told Novi Sad daily Dnevnik. Dodik: Nikolic victory would be fatal The Republic of Srpska prime minister added that Serbia had no more time to “experiment”, and that it needed to join the EU as soon as possible, as this was “the overriding national interest of all Serbs.” “If [Serb Radical Party candidate Tomislav] Nikolic wins, it will primarily jeopardize Serbia’s position in all areas. Both in terms of settling Kosovo’s status, and Serbia’s European path,“ he warned. Dodik said that in his campaign, Nikolic had “skilfully concealed the SRS’s true intentions,“ by donning a “European suit.“ The RS prime minister said that it was clear that the Radicals did not see Serbia in the EU, nor knew how to lead the country there. “It’s blatantly obvious that Nikolic would spend the next five years explaining that he was not as bad as the world made him out to be, and his Radicals, just as they did here with the SDS, would sign anything and everything that foreigners waved under their noses. We’ve seen that in the RS,“ he concluded.
