The British ambassador to Belgrade says Serbia has the right to intervene in case of violence in the south. Stephen Wordsworth told a Lesokovac weekly that "if there are people who think they can achieve something through violence, they are mistaken". "Serbia entitled to reasonable instruments in south" Nasa Rec magazine also quoted him as saying that Serbia "had the right" to use all reasonable means in such a scenario. "If there is violence, Serbia will have the right to use all reasonable instruments it has at its disposal to resolve the situation," Wordsworth said, asked what would happen if Valley Albanians decide to implement their idea of joining Kosovo through violence. He also said that the south was a separate issue that should not be tied to that of Kosovo. "Southern Serbia and Sandzak are parts of Serbia and they will remain there. The future of these regions is within Serbia," Wordsworth said.
