Bozidar Djelic says that the European Commission (EC) and many EU countries want to support Serbia on her European path. After reports that Serbia may be allowed to sign the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU at the Summit of Europe on January 28, 2008, the deputy prime minister told B92 that it was nonetheless clear that full cooperation with the Hague Tribunal still had to be proven. "EC, EU support Serbia's European path" “Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal is being constantly scrutinized, but it’s important for the Hague that there is a government that wishes to cooperate with the Tribunal. Sometimes, if you seek the impossible, everything falls apart. That’s why, I think it’s in the interests of the Hague and the EU for Serbia to stay on the European path, something that would entail signing the SAA on January 28,” said Djelic.
