President Boris Tadic is on an official visit to Prague at the invitation of his Czech counterpart Vaclav Klaus. Tadic is scheduled to meet with top Czech officials Monday including Klaus, Prime Minister Miroslav Topolanek, and the speakers of both houses of parliament, Miroslav Vlcek and Premysl Sobotka. Tadic: Serbia won't forgo legitimate goals Kosovo and European integration will be the main topics of these meetings. Even though Prague has noted that a unilateral proclamation of the province’s independence would be “a very unfortunate move”, it still awaits the adoption of a common approach pertaining to the matter on the part of the European Union. Speaking at the opening of a Czech-Serb business forum, Tadic said that Serbia would not give up on European integration, social and economic modernization, or her legitimate goals. The forum, organized by the Czech Industry and Traffic Council, was attended by seventeen representatives from large companies in Serbia, together with five local self-government officials. This is the president’s first official bilateral visit to Prague, although he did visit the Czech Republic in May when Klaus hosted a summit of central European presidents in Brno.
