Koštunica praises Putin’s support

Koštunica said that Serbia only asked that the UN rules valid for all sovereign states, apply to it as well.

“The joint policy of Serbia and Russia, based on the respect for fundamental principles of the UN Charter, is completely guided by our wish to preserve peace and stability in the Balkans and Europe,” Koštunica stressed.

“It is exceptionally important that Russia backed our people in the struggle to secure the respect of the law and fundamental justice."

"With that in mind, Serbia deeply appreciates Putin’s standing and interprets Russia’s principled policy as a confirmation of a deep friendship of our two nations.”

The prime minister added that the joint policy of Serbia and Russia was not directed against anyone, but oriented towards the respect of the international law and the conservation of lasting peace and stability in the entire region.
