Hungarian FM to celebrate national holiday in Serbia

Goncz will meet with the mayor of Subotica and other ethnic Hungarian leaders and visit the city's Hungarian language university and a public television studio that broadcasts in Hungarian, Viktor Polgar said.

Later in the day, she will travel to Stara Moravica to attend a Calvinist service in the local church.

Goncz also will address a commemoration of the holiday in a park dedicated to the memory of one of the leaders of the revolution, Lajos Kossuth, Polgar said.

Serbia’s northern province of Vojvodina is home to some 300,000 ethnic Hungarians.
