The drought so far caused losses estimated at EUR 375mn, an Agriculture Ministry official says. Danilo Golubovic, a secretary with the Agriculture Ministry, told the state television (RTS) Monday that “corn crops suffered the worst damage and that its yield will fall short by 40 percent, while sunflower and soybean crops have also been affected.” Drought cost Serbia EUR 375mn He pointed out that the government has appointed a commission in charge of natural disasters which has certain resources to compensate for the damages.
