BELGRADE Hague Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz has announced that the Prosecution will end its work after trial of Ratko Mladic has been finished. He added that a verdict in Mladic’s case was expected to be delivered by the end of 2015. He told daily Blic that only three trials were currently underway in the Hague Tribunal, those of Mladic, Karadzic and Goran Hadzic. The chief prosecutor noted that a provisional body of the International Criminal Court would continue any leftover cases, in accordance with the UN Security Council’s decision. Brammertz noted that the body would deal with issues such as witness protection, enforcement of sentences, cooperation with countries that required information from the Tribunal and possible appeals in the Karadzic, Mladic, Seselj and Hadzic cases. Brammertz said that a verdict in Serb Radical Party (SRS) leader Vojislav Šešelj’s case was expected soon and that the trial of former Republic of Srpska (RS) President Radovan Karadžić should end by the end of 2014.

He told daily Blic that only three trials were currently underway in the Hague Tribunal, those of Mladić, Karadžić and Goran Hadžić.
