Serbs request damages from U.S. company for Operation Storm The two Serb organizations claim in the lawsuit that MPRI “instructed Croatian army during the Operation Storm” and that it “participated in the operation”, writes Zagreb-based daily Jutanji list. The Serb organizations also submitted a contract signed by MPRI and Croatia on training of Croat officials and troops. Chicago Federal Court Judge Ruben Castillo has determined that the state of Illinois is competent to hold the trial because MPRI has its offices in the state. “The court has declared itself competent but that only means that the proceedings will be held but the suit filed by the Serbs from former so-called Republic of Serb Krajina, has no serious basis,” a MPRI representative claims. The Serbs request damages worth USD 10bn from MPRI – USD 25,000 for every one of 200,000 expelled Serbs. According to the lawsuit, MPRI is also responsible of “ethnic cleansing, torching and killing”. Serbs are seen fleeing Croatia during the Operation Storm (Tanjug, file) Jutarnji.hr
