The Public Prosecution in Zagreb issued indictments against five Croats for committing war crimes against 34 prisoners in the Kerestinec concentration camp. The crimes were committed from November 1991 until June 1992. Five charged with war crimes against Serbs After a year-long investigation, the indictment was brought against the former Kerestinac warden Stjepan Klaric (54), his deputy Drazen Pavlovic (46), and Goran Strukelj (44), Zeljko Zivec (43) and Viktor Ivancic (59), who were guards at the time. Kerestinec, a former missile base, served as a concentration camp where the captured members of the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), Serb volunteer units mostly from the area of Sisak, and civilians, including women, were held. Klaric allegedly allowed the indictees and other subordinates and members of the Croatian Army to abuse the prisoners, both physically and psychologically, and to have participated in the mistreatment, the Prosecution released on their webpage.
