28 year-old French national Brice Taton, who was brutally assaulted by Serbian hooligans on Thursday, is still in critical condition. Serbian Clinical Center spokesperson Drago Jovanovic told B92 that Taton was operated on successfully. Frenchman still in critical condition “The surgery was several hours long and it was satisfactory, but I cannot give a prognosis. The patient is very young, and we hope that he will be able to fight through this,” Jovanovic said. Taton was visited by his parents and the French consul in Belgrade after the operation. On Saturday, ten persons were arrested for the attack on Taton and a group of French football fans. They will be on trial for attempted murder. A group of about 30 hooligans attacked the French football fans who were sitting in a Belgrade cafe on Thursday. Taton was seriously injured while two other Frenchmen, one Serbian and the pub’s barman also suffered minor injuries. (Tanjug archive)
