"This year's biggest investment to be in Kolubara mine"

Speaking with workers, Vucic wished them a happy International Workers' Day and thanked them for "always being there" for their country.

According to Vucic, they spoke about ways to speed up procedures for public procurement, and regulate the status of workers who are hired on a temporary basis.

Vucic told workers that the Law on Safety at Work is being discussed, as well as the purchase of better equipment, the Serbian government said on its website.

According to him, the intention is for coal production to exceed 28 million tons, i.e., reach the 2016 level.

Vucic was accompanied by Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic, Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic and Milorad Grcic, acting Director of Serbia's state-owned power company EPS.
