By April 1, the working group will formulate the draft joint document on cooperation, which has been agreed in principle previously in Germany.

“This will be the technical realization of what was agreed by the Serbian and Albanian prime minister in Berlin,” Mihajlovic said.

Thursday's meeting is the continuation of cooperation that was launched at the conference on the Western Balkans held in Berlin late in August, 2014, when Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic presented projects for cooperation to Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Serbia and Albania are partners in realization of infrastructure projects and their goal is to act as such in the eyes of the EU, Mihajlovic said ay a news briefing in Tirana after the meeting, said a statement by the Serbian government.

She underlined that the working group will focus on large infrastructure projects, including construction of the Nis-Pristina-Tirana highway, construction of Corridor 11 from Belgrade to Montenegro and its intersection with the Adriatic-Ionian Motorway i.e. the Blue Corridor, reconstruction of the Belgrade-Bar rail line and its connection with Albanian harbors.

The Serbian minister and her Albanian colleague discussed about infrastructure projects of regional importance.

This is the first bilateral meeting between Serbian and Albanian officials in Tirana after 23 years.

Mihajlovic underlined that there is a joint interest in the partnership between Serbia and Albania, which is aimed at economic strengthening in the region, the statement said.
