December consumer prices down 0.4 percent

Serbia saw a month-on-month decrease of 0.4 percent in retail prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in December.

December consumer prices down 0.4 percent

Looking at a breakdown by purpose of consumption in December 2014 compared to the previous month, the biggest drop in prices was registered in the categories: alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.7 percent), transport (2.1 percent), food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.4 percent) and restaurants and hotels (0.3 percent).

An increase in prices was registered in the groups: communications (2.5 percent), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.3 percent each), recreation and culture (0.2 percent) and health (0.1 percent).

Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
