BELGRADE Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met on Thursday with a Russian business delegation led by Gazpromneft General Director's adviser Dmitry Malyshev. They discussed the South Stream natural gas pipeline project, whose realization should start in December. President discusses South Stream with Russians The Russian guests informed Nikolic that, according to the plan, the preparation to build the 411 km long leg of the pipeline that will go through Serbia, will be finished by October this year, and that the construction will start in December, said a statement from the president's office. The construction of the pipeline stretch through Serbia is a project of enormous significance to the country, and its value is EUR 1.9 billion, the statement says.
