President discusses South Stream with Russians

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić met on Thursday with a Russian business delegation led by Gazpromneft General Director's adviser Dmitry Malyshev.

Just a couple of days ago the president of ENI was saying his company expected to make an investment decision on South Stream in December or early 2013. If the Russians are talking about starting construction in December, maybe they're prepared to go it alone. It now looks like Italy will be getting gas via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), so maybe they're not as interested as they once were in South Stream. Although with these pipelines, the information changes twice a week - believe it when they start pumping gas/oil. With the new LNG terminals being built, the markup on gas from the East is already not as big as it used to be, so maybe interest is waning in pipelines.

Actually in Italy press report say that the money is still a big problem..ENI for example has a lot of problems and the French are also in trouble...So the Russian must step in in a big way...
