Serbian currency strengthens by 0.3 percent

The Serbian dinar strengthened for the third day in a row Friday, going up by 0.3 percent, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has announced.

The Serbian dinar strengthened for the third day in a row Friday, going up by 0.3 percent, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has announced. The official middle exchange rate is RSD 115.2687 for one euro on Friday. Serbian currency strengthens by 0.3 percent This year, the dinar hit its highest level against the single European currency on January 11 with the exchange rate at RSD 103.6922, and the lowest on June 4, when one euro was worth RSD 117.6943. Since the beginning of 2012, the central bank has sold a total of one billion and 288.8 million euros on the interbank foreign exchange market so as to ensure smooth running of the foreign exchange market. The dinar is 2.9 percent down on this time last month, and 13.6 percent down on the year. On Thursday, the indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate was at RSD 91.4250, up 0.7 percent from the day before. The dinar is 2.9 percent down on this time last month, and 13.6 percent down on the year.

On Thursday, the indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate was at RSD 91.4250, up 0.7 percent from the day before.

The dinar weakened against the U.S. dollar by six percent when compared to the level a month ago, and by 25.7 percent if compared to a year ago.
