Debt up eight percent since beginning of 2011
Private debt in Serbia went up eight percent in the first eight months of 2011, climbing to RSD 1,869,87bn, according to the Association of Serbian Banks (UBS).

Private debt in Serbia went up eight percent in the first eight months of 2011, climbing to RSD 1,869,87bn, according to the Association of Serbian Banks (UBS). In August alone, the bank loan debt of individuals and businesses grew 0.9 percent, from RSD 1,853,93bn to 1,869,87bn. Debt up eight percent since beginning of 2011 The citizens’ debt went up 5.2 percent, from RSD 514,89bn to 541,56bn between January and August. The biggest rise over the past eight moths was recorded in cash loans - 6.8 percent, from RSD 29,87 to 138,67bn. Housing loans went up 6.2 percent between January and August, from RSD 286,18bn to 303,92bn, while refinancing loans grew 1.4 percent, from RSD 34,9bn to 35,38bn. Consumer loans went up 0.7 percent since the beginning of 2011, from RSD 39,87bn to 40,15bn, while agricultural loans saw a drop of 2.5 percent, from RSD 24,06bn to 23,45bn. Business loans went up 7.3 percent in the first eight months of this year, from RSD 1,165,48bn to RSD 1,251bn. Loans to entrepreneurs increased 49.3 percent, from RSD 51,77bn to 77,31bn. The number of people who were more than two months behind on their payments grew from 3.4 percent in July to 3.6 percent in August. At the same time, the number of companies and entrepreneurs that were more than 15 days late on their payments dropped from 14.5 to 14.3 percent, and 12.6 to 12.1 percent respectively.

The citizens’ debt went up 5.2 percent, from RSD 514,89bn to 541,56bn between January and August.The biggest rise over the past eight moths was recorded in cash loans - 6.8 percent, from RSD 29,87 to 138,67bn.
Housing loans went up 6.2 percent between January and August, from RSD 286,18bn to 303,92bn, while refinancing loans grew 1.4 percent, from RSD 34,9bn to 35,38bn.
Consumer loans went up 0.7 percent since the beginning of 2011, from RSD 39,87bn to 40,15bn, while agricultural loans saw a drop of 2.5 percent, from RSD 24,06bn to 23,45bn.
Business loans went up 7.3 percent in the first eight months of this year, from RSD 1,165,48bn to RSD 1,251bn.
Loans to entrepreneurs increased 49.3 percent, from RSD 51,77bn to 77,31bn.
The number of people who were more than two months behind on their payments grew from 3.4 percent in July to 3.6 percent in August.
At the same time, the number of companies and entrepreneurs that were more than 15 days late on their payments dropped from 14.5 to 14.3 percent, and 12.6 to 12.1 percent respectively.
