Foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) declined by EUR 79.7mn in August. At the end of the month, the figure reached EUR 10, 012.2mn, the central bank stated on Thursday. NBS foreign exchange reserves down in August The strongest impact on the decline came from the sell of NBS foreign exchange reserves in the interbank foreign exchange market (EUR 182.5 million) and the settlement of liabilities under frozen foreign currency savings (EUR 14.0 million). Expressed in dollars, the foreign exchange reserves amounted to USD 12,675.5 million and such a level set the ratio of foreign exchange reserves to money supply at 442 percent and simultaneously covered eight months of imports of goods and services. On the last day of August, foreign exchange reserves of commercial banks amounted to EUR 1,588, 4 million, and therefore the country's overall foreign exchange reserves reached EUR 11, 600.6 million or USD 14,689.8 million.
