The government has founded a company for railroad transport – BB Cargo, it was reported in Belgrade on Wednesday. The new company will participate in the tender for the purchase of the Montenegrin Port of Bar company. Company set up to buy Port of Bar According to the Ekapija website, the total capital of the company is EUR 62,000, and the founders plan to increase the capital with the purchase of shares from the Container Terminal and General Cargo company in Bar and Montecargo in Podgorica, in tenders announced by the Montenegrin government. The decision for setting up a company to buy the Bar port was made by the Serbian government at the end of 2009, the website states. According to earlier media reports, the government set aside RSD 500mn in order to become a minority holder in a consortium with Serbian companies to participate in the tender for the privatization of a part of the port. The tender for the sale of 54.05 percent of the shares of the Container Terminal and General Cargo company in Bar – one of the three companies into which the business of the Bar port is divided – and the awarding of a concession for 30 years, was announced on October 31, 2009, and will be opened through February 1, 2010.
