Alpine-Porr has submitted its proposal for terminating the concessions contract for the Horgos-Pozega highway. For termination of the contract, the consortium is asking for its expenses to be reimbursed, together with a concession for the section of the highway from Ostruznica to Lajkovac, or Ostruznica to Cacak. Alpine sends termination proposal Environmental and Spatial Planning Minister Oliver Dulic said that the government would respond to the proposal very quickly. The Alpine-Porr proposal arrived yesterday, after the government decided to terminate the contract last Friday. “The concessionaire asked to be refunded specific expenses and proposed the creation of a smaller concession by remodeling the contract and allowing the consortium to construct the highway to Ostruznica or to Cacak. The concession would cover the once southern part of the Horgos-Pozega concession, and, of course, this is something that must be discussed within the government. We will give an answer shortly,” Dulic said. He said that the best thing would be for that upper part of the highway, from Horgos to Novi Sad, about 108 kilometers, to be divided into four parts and to hold tenders for four different companies to work on it. “It would be good because a larger number of companies would be able to work at the same time, because we certainly do not have money to finance the entire highway at once, and because introducing more companies into the tender would reduce the price ,” Dulic explained. He said that the most important part of the contract would be the price and deadlines, adding that no delays would be allowed.
