Only Italy's Fondiaria has submitted an offer to buy Novi Sad's DDOR insurance company. Thus the planned auction was cancelled. The details of the financial part of the offer will be known today. Italians submit only bid for leading insurer The tender for the DDOR sale was called in May 2006, but was put on temporary hold due to the parliamentary elections early this year. Eleven companies bought the tender documentation and were eligible to submit offers, including German Allianz, French Axa and Groupama, Swiss-based Baloise, Czech Ceska Poistovna, Dutch Eureko, Greek Ethniki, Italy's Fondiaria and Generali, KBC from Belgium and Slovenian Zavarovalnica Triglav. But Generali and Triglav have in the meantime decided not to place their offers. A total of 83.3 percent of DDOR capital is up for sale. The company currently has a market share of 30 percent in Serbia.
