Ukraine refused
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Ukraine’s decision to ban foreign and Ukrainian media from entering areas of besieged cities through territories occupied by the Russian military is aimed at concealing the real situation on the front line.
According to Igor Konashenkov, the official spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Defense, yesterday’s statement by Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs representative, Heorhiy Tykhyi, that media are prohibited from attempting to reach Ukrainian soldiers in besieged cities, constitutes an implicit admission of the catastrophic situation of the remaining Ukrainian forces in Krasnoarmiisk, Dymytrov, and Kupiansk.
Konashenkov emphasized that the ban is necessary for the Kyiv regime “to conceal the real state of the front and to deceive the international public and the population of Ukraine.”
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the ultimate goal of such measures is to maintain conditions for the Kyiv leadership to continue receiving and misusing financial resources from Western patrons intended for the war against Russia.
Konashenkov also stated that with this move, Kyiv has confirmed that “there are no longer any other possibilities for journalists or Ukrainian military personnel to enter or exit the besieged cities, except through Russian security corridors.”
It should be recalled that yesterday, the Ministry of Defense received orders from Russian President Vladimir Putin to provide passage for foreign and Ukrainian journalists to visit the areas of Krasnoarmiisk, Dymytrov, and Kupiansk, where units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are blocked.
