The hot weather will continue in the coming period, but part of Serbia is expecting a minor refreshment, according to meteorologist Djordje Djurić for Telegraph.
Friday will bring even higher temperatures. It is expected to be clear and hot. The maximum temperature will be from 35 to 40, in Belgrade up to 38 degrees.
According to his forecast, a cold front is spreading across central Europe at this time, from the Pyrenees to the Baltic. It will cross the Alps by the end of the day and will reach our area tomorrow.
At the end of the day, the penetration of this cold front is expected to the north and west of Vojvodina, with moderate cloud cover and a very strong northwesterly wind.
This cold front during the evening and night will bring refreshment in the form of a strong, gusty and stormy northwesterly wind to the whole of northern and western Serbia. Only a moderate increase in cloud cover is expected, Djurić added.
On Saturday, it will be much more comfortable on the north and west of Serbia, with temperatures up to 30 degrees, while it will still be hot in the south and east, with temperatures above 35 degrees.
Short-term showers with thunder are expected in the southwest of Serbia.
On Sunday, it will be clear and hot again, and on Monday the temperature will reach 40 degrees.
From Tuesday, refreshment, and the cold front will bring a temperature drop of 10 to 15 degrees, rain and showers with thunder, but also a strong northwest wind.
However, as Djurić says, a new heat wave will affect Serbia from July 12.
"In the following days, special caution due to the very high values of the UV index, especially in the period from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Then you should not be exposed to the sun for more than 10 minutes without adequate protection, and you should also protect yourself from the danger of heatstroke," he said.
He also points out that Serbia is under attack from severe droughts, and a serious lack of precipitation can threaten agricultural crops.
"Due to severe drought and very high temperatures, there is also a huge danger of forest fires and open fires, so you should not light fires in open areas and throw matches. Due to the potential danger of dangerous weather conditions, you should regularly monitor the state and competent services and act in accordance with their announcements," concluded Djurić.
