Serbia is experiencing another extremely hot day, with temperatures expected to reach 36–40°C
At 11 a.m., the hottest parts of Serbia were Belgrade, Banatski Karlovac, Veliko Gradište and Smederevska Palanka, where temperatures reached 35°C. This comes amid a heatwave with daytime highs expected to reach 36–40°C, locally up to 42°C, according to RHMZ.
The coolest temperatures were recorded in Sjenica, where it was 28°C, according to data published by the State Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia (RHMZ).
In Kragujevac, Novi Sad and Zrenjanin, temperatures reached 34°C.
A red weather alert is in effect across Serbia, indicating very dangerous weather conditions.
RHMZ has issued a warning for a strong heatwave expected to continue until August 24, with maximum temperatures ranging from 34°C to 40°C. In central and southern Serbia, temperatures could locally reach around 42°C.
