This was confirmed on Friday by Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dačić.

Members of the Spanish police on Thursday cut another drug smuggling route from South America and seized 36 kilograms of cocaine - part of the several-month long joint operation by Spanish, Serbian, Montenegrin and Croatian police in combating illicit drug trafficking, Dačić told Tanjug.

The minister of the Serbian police said the cocaine had been found on the ocean liner DS Montrose sailing from Argentina to Western Europe, the police action taking place at the point of the cargo ship's entering the territorial waters of Spain.

Spain police arrested the chief engineer of the engine room of the ship, Montenegrin citizen Božidar Martinović, with whom the cocaine was found, Dačić said.
