"Region's EU accession process has changed"
"Europe must define itself first," Svilanovic said at a conference titled (Re-)Balkanisation of the Western Balkans. The region's key problems are the Macedonia name dispute, the dysfunctionality of Bosnia-Herzegovina and normalization of the Belgrade-Pristina relations, he said.
A specific trait of Serbia's accession talks is Chapter 35, which relates to Kosovo, Svilanovic said, adding that the same model would apply to Bosnia-Herzegovina once it opened the membership talks, with the chapter to address Bosnia-Herzegovina's functionality as a state.
