NEW YORK The UN Security Council will meet on November 19 to discuss the most recent report on the situation in Kosovo, Tanjug said it learned on Thursday. The report is prepared by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. UN Security Council session on Kosovo on Nov. 19 Ban's report, submitted to the news agency from his office, stressed the importance of success of the upcoming local elections in Kosovo, especially in the north. It emphasized its importance for the future consolidation of peace and stability in the area, while commending the efforts of the government of Serbia for a strong campaign in order for Serbs to vote in elections. The regular report, which covers the period from July 16 until October 15, also said that the security situation in Kosovo was essentially peaceful, but with occasional ethnic incidents. Both sides show an increased commitment to the prevention of tensions on the ground, to allow the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and the implementation of what has been agreed to move forward, Ban wrote.
