Opposition DSS party leader Vojislav Kostunica said that the only way to get out of Serbia's crisis is to establish national unity in the country. He said that such policies insist on an internal restoration of Serbia, based on the best democratic and European charters and standards. DSS calls for national unity Kostunica said that Serbia must implement completely open policies for all forms of international cooperation, including those with the EU, but to keep the interest of Serbia clear at all times. “Then, a consensus must be reached on the national program for sparking the economy and employment, and, of course, a stabilization of state institutions and the legislative system,” Kostunica said, adding that the national policies must include strong support for the continuation of an all-encompassing fight against organized crime. He said that the parliament must establish national unity and pass new resolutions that will confirm the leading of policies for preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, adding that the new policies must include the establishment of national unity and the full support of the Republic of Srpska for preserving the Dayton Agreement. “DSS will fight for the victory of the new national policies and for restoring national unity in Serbia with the goal of building a strong and stable country,” he said. He said that the biggest problem in Serbia is not the economic crisis, but the fact that Serbia has a government “which was formed two years ago by cheating the citizens, and keeps increasing the amount of false promises it is giving.” “Peace and military neutrality are the highest goals that we must preserve,” Kostunica said.
