40 Serbs return to Kosovo police

Kosovo police (KPS) spokesman Arber Beka said today that more than 40 Serb officers have returned to the police since May 15. “We have announcements that our Serb colleagues will return to work in the KPS in the coming days. Currently, there are 250 Serb officers under suspension and from May 15 they are no longer getting paid as they were up until that day,” Beka told FoNet news agency. 40 Serbs return to Kosovo police He added that the wages were cut by a decision of the Kosovo interior ministry in which it states that Serb officers have until June 30 to return. After that date, they will be made redundant. Beka said that there was a total of 813 Serbs employed by the KPS who worked in the police and civilian sector. Of that number, 700 were police officers. KPS has a total of 7,200 employees.
