Ivory Coast's incumbent president, Laurent Gbagbo, has been detained, VOA reports. A Gbagbo adviser in France, Toussaint Alain, told VOA that French special forces detained Gbagbo at his Abidjan residence Monday. A column of French armored vehicles had been seen advancing on the Gbagbo residence Monday. Gbagbo refused to give up power after his rival Alassane Ouattara was named the winner of last year's presidential election.
