Remains of Serbian royals transferred to Oplenac

The remains of four members of the Krađorđević royal family were transferred to the Church of St. George in Oplenac, central Serbia on Saturday.

OPLENAC The remains of four members of the Kradjordjevic royal family were transferred to the Church of St. George in Oplenac, central Serbia on Saturday. The remains of King Petar II, his wife Queen Aleksandra, mother Queen Marija and Prince Andrej will be reburied with highest state honors on Sunday. Remains of Serbian royals transferred to Oplenac Bishop of Sumadija Jovan and priests, members of Oplenac Endowment Board of Directors, members of the Crown Council and numerous citizens met the coffins and paid their respect. King Petar II was buried in Libertyville, Illinois, Queen Aleksandra at Tatoi Palace’s royal cemetery in Greece, Queen Marija at Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore in Great Britain while Prince Andrej was buried at Nova Gracanica monastery’s cemetery in Illinois.
