The Igman Initiative, a movement of over 100 NGOs from the region, will hold their 17th meeting tomorrow. The event will be dedicated to finding a solution to normalize relations between the state signatories of the Dayton Accords. Igman Initiative meeting tomorrow Igman Initiative Co-President Aleksandar Popov told B92 that the presidents of Bosnia-Hercegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia would not be attending, after President Boris Tadic, who was due to host the event, decided to cancel. Tadic turned down his invitation because Chairman of the Bosnian Presidency Zeljko Komsic’s recent comments, it is claimed, had offended Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica. “We at the Igman Initiative have held a number of sessions so far, presidents have been present on four occasions, absent 12 times, so Sunday’s rally is a regular event for us and will go ahead as planned,” said Popov. “We feel that it is very important to hold the session at this particular moment, because the situation, which is currently very turbulent and which is bringing new uncertainty to the whole region, calls for NGOs from all four Dayton Accord countries, under the auspices of the Igman Initiative, to make their voice heard," he added. Popov said that at the end of the session the Igman Initiative would make a statement to be sent to the presidents and the media of the four countries, where they would put forward a proposal to deal with the current situation and normalize relations.
