Dusan Prorokovic said that Kosovo Serbs should boycott the province's elections scheduled for November. “The worst thing that can happen is for one section of the Serb population to vote. That would lead to confusion once more, we would not know who the legitimate Serbian representative was in each municipality, and this would present an ideal opportunity for UNMIK and Albanian manipulation,” the secretary of state in the Kosovo Ministry said. Belgrade official calls for Kosovo election boycott Prorokovic told Radio Kragujevac that he could not understand the Serb parties and individuals who had registered to vote in the elections. “If Kosovo Prime Minister Agim Ceku says every evening on television that Kosovo will proclaim independence, I do not know why Serbs would want to have anything to do with these institutions, unless there is a possibility of some personal benefit,” he said. “You are either for Kosovo as a part of Serbia, or as an independent state. Whoever is for Kosovo as a part of Serbia can receive the help of the state and receive wages from the Serbian budget. Whoever is for an independent Kosovo can receive their wages from the Kosovo budget,” Prorokovic said.
