Why are Serbs living behind barbed wire in Kosovo?
Could it be because the Albanians hate them and wish them harm?

Now I am reading that if Serbs wish to get out of their prisons they should do as the Albanians want them to do and all will be Ok. This leads to to a conclusion that Albanians don't know the first thing about democracy. They don't deserve to be given another country where they have PROVEN by the barbed wire conditions for the minority that they are willing to threaten, intimidate and do harm to people who are not willing to go along with what they say.

This exactly what the K-Albanians have been doing for decades and are still doing. They are threatening violence on a major scale if not given what they want.
NATO is having to escort Serbian children to school because it is not safe for them. Imagine, what sort of people attack school children?
Why does NATO have to escort these children to school if the Albanians are not dangerous. And they accuse the Serbs of being cowards and only attacking women and children.

We are being constantly told that only the Serbs who have committed crimes in Kosovo are not safe. Does that include the children? What did the children do?

Why would any Serb vote now and legitimize the KLA government? If any of them do it will be because of fear from their Albanian captors.

nikshala,

So you are threatening Kosovo Serbs: take part in our attempts to make an illegal state in Kosovo or continue living in your bad conditions. If you cooperate with our attempts in making our 2nd Albanian state we will be good to you. Those barbed wires will be lifted, you will no longer need KFOR escort to go to schools, markets etc.
That is a threat and you know it.

"So you are asking Kosovo Serbs who live in the south of Kosovo to legitimize their bad conditions (barbed wire, KFOR escort etc.) by going to those elections. "

Well, what else can they do? Ask Serbia to send in the army and escort them to schools and shops? Seriously, Serbs outside of Kosova need to let the K Serbs speak for themselves. Serbs outside Kosova might just learn something from them.

" If Kosovo Serbs in the south of Kosovo live in such bad conditions, what guarantees them they will be in a better position in a quasi independent Kosovo."

Nothing, but their sincere efforts at 'making their positions better in an Independent Kosova." You get nothing from people when you offer them nothing. In fact, Serbs in Kosova need to take the first step in healing the wounds between them and their Albanian neighbors. If Serbs believe they were 'first' in Kosova, then they can act like the 'civilized' voice and welcome people to their lives and culture and show them the hard facts of their Serbian existence in these Illyrian lands prior to it ever being called the Turkish word "Kosovo." And, if they can't or won't take the first step, then we know who the mother is of this land called Kosova.

" They want to live in their soverign state of Serbia "

By now, the Serbs of Kosova know the direction Serbia lies from their homes...what are they waiting for? An invite from Belgrade?

These politicians call on a group of people who they have never seen or heard, (nor do they want to see or hear) not to take part in a process recognized internationally, and when at the same time, the rest of the world, including Russia agrees that participation in processes is the only solution to any crissis. The stakes are higher for Serbians in Kosova themselves (the future of their families) than for Serbian politicians who "make calls" from their comfortable positions in Belgrade.

nikshala,

Give up your attempts to separate the Serbian province of Kosovo and you will see the Serbs willingly take place in all elections taking place in Kosovo. If Kosovo Serbs in the south of Kosovo live in such bad conditions, what guarantees them they will be in a better position in a quasi independent Kosovo. They want to live in their soverign state of Serbia of which Kosovo is a part of.

No VB, No. We asking K. Serbs to become part of the community in Kosovo, so that barb wires can be removed, if not so already. It will take time, yes, but its only possible if serbs become part of life in Kosovo. And the harsh truth for you serbs in Serbia is that most of K. Serbs in the south want to vote, since they want to be represented and in Kosovan goverment and get better rights, but they are afraid of losing their wages from Serbia and being labelled as traitors.

Let them do what they want - if they want to vote, vote, if not, don't. But blegrade should not tell them what to do.

But I guess that a hard thing for Belgrade politicans to do.

Whoever is for an independent Kosovo can receive their wages from the Kosovo budget,” Proroković said."

Glad to see the mysterious "compromise" has finally been found by a Serbian minister. Kosova is allowed to be independent, but the Serbian government will continue to fund whatever section of the Serb population still wants to consider themselves part of Serbia, relieving the Kosovar budget (which Kosova could perhaps see as a form of compensation). In gratitude for this cash, Kosova agrees to allow these Serbs to regard themselves, metaphysically, as part of Serbia, and the UN allows Serbia to continue to use the term 'Kosmet' in its own official dealings in the UN and elsewhere while everyine else uses the correct name of the independent state, Serbia is allowed to draw 19th century style maps showing "Kosmet" as a part of Serbia, and together with the large-scale provisions already in the Ahisaari Plan for Serb autonomy, everyone moves on. Hope Proroković puts his compromise dicovery to the Troika.

Wrong MR Prorokovic. It is really not healthy for K-Serbs not to go out and vote for the ones that they support. This will definitely keep Serbs out of life in Kosova. K-Serbs should not and will not listen to him. After all it is them that need to decide not him.
What should K-Serbs do? Listen to Belgrade betrayal policy or US and EU integration policies. I think it should be left to them

Belgrade official calls for Kosovo election boycott

BELGRADE -- Dušan Proroković said that Kosovo Serbs should boycott the province's elections scheduled for November.

“The worst thing that can happen is for one section of the Serb population to vote. That would lead to confusion once more, we would not know who the legitimate Serbian representative was in each municipality, and this would present an ideal opportunity for UNMIK and Albanian manipulation,” the secretary of state in the Kosovo Ministry said.

Proroković told Radio Kragujevac that he could not understand the Serb parties and individuals who had registered to vote in the elections.

“If Kosovo Prime Minister Agim Ceku says every evening on television that Kosovo will proclaim independence, I do not know why Serbs would want to have anything to do with these institutions, unless there is a possibility of some personal benefit,” he said.

“You are either for Kosovo as a part of Serbia, or as an independent state. Whoever is for Kosovo as a part of Serbia can receive the help of the state and receive wages from the Serbian budget. Whoever is for an independent Kosovo can receive their wages from the Kosovo budget,” Proroković said.
